Your Business Has Grown. Has Your Website Grown With It?

by

Business growth does not always happen in one dramatic moment. Often, it happens gradually.

You gain more experience. Your services improve. Your customer base expands. Your processes become more professional. Perhaps your prices change, your team grows, or you begin serving a different type of customer.

Meanwhile, the website you created several years ago may still be presenting an earlier version of your business.

That creates an important question: Does your website represent the business you have today?

Your Business May Have Outgrown Its Website

A website can continue functioning technically while becoming outdated strategically.

Maybe it still lists services you no longer emphasize. Perhaps newer services aren’t mentioned at all. Your photos may no longer represent your team, products, location, or quality of work.

Even the language you use to describe your business may have changed.

When potential customers visit your website, they don’t know everything that has happened behind the scenes. They can only evaluate what you show them.

Your website should not preserve where your business used to be. It should help communicate where your business is now—and where it is going.

Look at Your Website With Fresh Eyes

You don’t necessarily need to redesign everything simply because your business has grown.

Start with a review.

Read your homepage as though you’re a first-time visitor. Are your primary services immediately clear? Check your About page. Does it reflect your current experience, team, and business story?

Review your service pages, photographs, contact information, calls to action, testimonials, and branding.

Then look at your website on your phone. Is the experience still easy and professional?

Sometimes a few strategic updates can make a significant difference. Other times, businesses discover that the structure and design they started with can no longer support what they have become.

Either way, the first step is recognizing the gap.

Let Your Online Presence Grow With You

You have invested time, energy, and resources into building your business. Your online presence deserves periodic attention too.

Don’t be discouraged if your website has fallen behind. That doesn’t erase the progress you’ve made. It simply gives you an opportunity to bring your online presentation back into alignment with your business.

Take another look at your website this week.

Does it accurately represent what you offer today?

If your business has grown beyond what your current website communicates, Designs by Cami can help you evaluate what needs to change and create an online presence that better reflects the business you’ve built.
